Sambal Kicap Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- 20 red bird's eye chillies
- 2 cloves garlic sliced
- 4 tbsp fried shallots
- 1-2 Calamansi limes
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- kicap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- salt and sugar adjust to taste
DIRECTIONS:
1. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry chillies and garlic slices until lightly browned.
2. Then, add the fried chillies and garlic together with the frying oil in a dry blender. Add also fried shallots and blend all ingredients until fine. Pour into a serving bowl.
3. Add sweet soy sauce, adjust the amount of soy sauce according to your own desire.
4. Add salt, sugar and lime juice to taste. Mix well. Serve.
