Cereal Butter Prawns Recipe





Servings: 4-6
INGREDIENTS:
  • 400 gm prawns, large
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp wheat/all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp tapioca/corn flour
  • 1.5 cups cereal (Nestum)
  • 1-1.5 tbsp milk powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar, adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp salt, adjust to taste
  • 4 tbsp butter (60 gm)
  • a handful curry leaves
  • 3 red bird's eye chillies, sliced
  • oil for frying prawns

DIRECTIONS:

1. Mix prawns with eggs. Add wheat and tapioca flour. Mix until prawns are well coated.

2. Heat enough oil. Fry the prawns in batches until they changed colour. Make sure the oil is hot before frying. Remove and set aside.

3. Combine Nestum cereals, milk powder, sugar and salt in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.

4. Heat butter in a wok until melted.

5. Then, add curry leaves and chillies. Saute until the curry leaves are slightly crispy.

6. Add the cereal mixture. Cook for 2-5 minutes, until combined and crisp. Here, you can add more salt / sugar if necessary.

7. Lastly, add the fried prawns. Mix until well combined with the cereal mixture.

8. Serve.
